ELECTROLYSIS

IONIC THEORY AND ELECTROLYSIS

In chemistry and manufacturing, electrolysis is defined as an electrical decomposition of chemical compound known as an electrolyte in a state of it's solution or molten. Usually electrolysis is carried out in a device called electrolytic cell which consists of metals rods which are connected to the terminals of the battery (DC supply) which are called electrodesThe free moving ions in electrolytes are attracted to the oppositely charged electrodes which connect to the dc supply.
