IONIC THEORY AND ELECTROLYSIS
In chemistry and manufacturing, electrolysis is defined as an electrical decomposition of chemical compound known as an electrolyte in a state of it's solution or molten. Usually electrolysis is carried out in a device called electrolytic cell which consists of metals rods which are connected to the terminals of the battery (DC supply) which are called electrodes . The free moving ions in electrolytes are attracted to the oppositely charged electrodes which connect to the dc supply.
